Michael Saylor: BIP-110 fails to gain broad support from miners and will either stagnate or become irrelevant

On 8 August, the founder of Strategy, Michael Saylor, wrote that only 2.6 per cent of miners had sent signals in support of BIP-110 and that they had not received broad support. At 961,632 blocks, its nodes will reject non-sign blocks. The BIP-110 will then stand still or be broken into irrelevant presence, while bitcoin will continue to function normally. Bitcoin is running as designed. BIP-110 is a temporary soft forklift proposal, which envisages the addition of seven consensus restrictions over a period of approximately one year, including limiting the length of new scripts, the partial transfer of data and witness sizes, the disablement of part of the Taproot extension path, etc., to significantly reduce any non-payment data that can be embedded in transactions, such as inscriptions, so as to reduce the node burden, inhibit garbage data and focus bitcoin more on monetary purposes。
