Trump says he's only had a brief conversation with Walsh since he took over

On Monday, 11 August, the President of the United States, Trump, stated that since Chairman Walsh of the United States Federal Reserve assumed office, only one “short” conversation had taken place between the two, and denied what had been said by the outside world about frequent communication between the two sides. Hassette, Director of the National Economic Commission of the White House of the United States last week, stated that the two were “often discussing economic issues”, but other informed sources claimed that the communication was irregular and not very frequent. Previously, there were reports of a number of communications between Trump and Walsh since his confirmation as Chairman of the Federal Reserve in May, when he asked him about his forecasts and perceptions of economic prospects. Trump again expressed his preference for lower interest rates, but stated that he “100 per cent supported” Walsh and stressed that the Federal Reserve policy was decided jointly by the Board of Governors。
