For the first time in the world, the largest sovereign wealth fund disclosed SpaceX holding, with an equity value of over $1.2 billion
On 12 August, CNBC reported that the sovereign wealth fund of Norway, amounting to $23.4 trillion, recorded more than $182 billion in profits during the first half of the year, a record high return on investment of 9.4 per cent over the same period. The Investment Management Corporation of the Norwegian Central Bank (NBIM), CEO Nicolai Tangen, stated that performance was driven mainly by the good performance of the stock market, particularly by the rise in the Asia Science and Technology Unit. For the first time in the latest semi-annual report, the Fund disclosed holding of SpaceX, with an equity share of about 0.05 per cent, with a value of just over $1.2 billion as at 30 June. In contrast, it held approximately 1.3 per cent of the shares in British Wida, valued at $61.8 billion, and approximately 1.2 per cent of the shares in apples, valued at $52.7 billion. The Norwegian Sovereign Wealth Fund, managed by NBIM, was established in the 1990s to invest mainly in the country ' s oil and gas revenues. The Fund currently invests more than 7,000 companies in more than 50 countries worldwide, holding approximately 1.5 per cent of the shares of globally listed companies. Equities accounted for more than two thirds of its overall portfolio and United States equities accounted for approximately 40 per cent of the total portfolio。
