Laser Digital, a Japanese registered in Nomura, was the first new encryption exchange in four years
Laser Digital, supported by Nomura, Japan, has become Japan ' s first newly registered service provider for encrypted asset transactions in four years, and has been approved and is preparing to include digital assets in the framework of financial instruments. Laser Digital stated that its Japanese subsidiary had completed its registration and would initially provide liquidity for the domestic virtual asset services and then consider being an institutional investor. The registration provides a way for Laser Digital to enter a market with rising demand. A 2026 survey by Nomura and Laser Digital showed that 79 per cent of respondents planned to invest in encrypted assets over the next three years. Laser Digital ' s registration was obtained after months of regulatory work to establish compliance operations for institutional clients. Japan has recently adopted a encryption law that classifies digital assets as financial products and provides a legal basis for domestic spot-coded exchange trading funds。
