Vitalik details local hybrid technology, and the front-line programme in cryptography is still at an early stage
On 21 August, Vitalik Buterin, the co-founder of the ETA, published the article " Obfuscation (Part III): Local Mixing ", which presents a new type of cipheral confusion technique, Local Mixing, which is expected to become a new generation of password-based tools. Existing confusion schemes rely on elliptical curves, grid-codes, etc., to calculate the costs; local mixing, using symmetric passwords and the Hash function, hides the original logic of the circuit by means of reversibility, mixing, partitioning, reordering, etc., while retaining function. The technology is still in its early stages and faces security challenges such as random attacks and linear analysis, and safety has not been fully validated. If a breakthrough is made, it is expected that the output of the antiquator encryption programme will contribute to universal iO (non-distinguishing confusion); AI supports research or accelerates its maturity. The confusion is referred to as the “last frontier” of cryptography, and local mixing provides an entirely new approach to the field。
