OpenAI appoints Meta's senior executive for Southeast Asia and Australia

On 28 August, Openai had hired a senior executive of Meta Platforms (META.O) to run operations in South-East Asia and Australia, with a view to taking advantage of growth opportunities in those markets with more than 600 million people. Sandia de Vanathan will assume this new position and become the highest-ranking head of OpenAI in the region. She will be responsible for consumer user growth, business adoption and partnerships, operation and communication with regulators, and will take place in October. Dewanathan posted on Friday with the British that she would leave Meta but did not disclose more details. A spokesperson for OpenAI confirmed her appointment. Dewanathan will be based in Singapore and report back to Kieran Mani, Managing Director of the Asia-Pacific Region。
