Sam Altman: OpenAI will terminate its cooperation with Cursor after SpaceX deals

Sam Altman states that OpenAI will terminate its cooperation with Cursor after the transaction with SpaceX. OpenAI plans to stop providing the model to Cursor because Cursor was acquired by SpaceX in Elon Musk, increasing competition in the development tool market. On 28 August, OpenAI informed SpaceX that it planned to close its agreement with Cursor on 12 November 2026, deciding that it was due to a change of control and concerns about whether SpaceX would comply with the terms of the contract. Cursor was not charged with breach of the agreement. OpenAI stated that there had been disputes with other Musk-controlled companies in the past. SpaceX completed the acquisition of Anysphere, the Cursor parent company, in August with a turnover of about $60 billion. Cursor confirmed that he officially became part of SpaceX on 14 August. The deal was made after SpaceX ' s first public collection in June, when SpaceX was listed on 12 June in NASDAQ at an IPO price of $135 and eventually raised some $85.7 billion。
