MetaMask hired Korean hackers without causing substantial loss

MetaMask hired a North Korean-related hacker, whose account number GitHub, imyugioh, had been available on Lazarus Group ' s website since September 2025, but MetaMask still hired him in March 2026. The Korean hacker Tyler Knapp, mixed with the MetaMask team, entered through the outsourcing of human resources suppliers, bypassing background checks, working for one month and participating in the development of the wallet-money access functionality. MetaMask discovered the hacker because of his IP and behaviour abnormalities, revoked his authority and suspended the publication of the relevant product, without causing material data or financial loss。
