Air traffic in the Strait of Hormuz has been stagnating

On 10 July, Winward Maritime Analysis, based in the United Kingdom, released a report on 9 July that merchant ship traffic from the Persian Gulf through the Straits had largely stalled as a result of a sharp decline in traffic in the Straits as a result of the continued exchange of fire between the United States and Iraq. It was reported that traffic through the Strait of Hormuz had experienced significant fluctuations in recent days. On 7 July, a total of 51 traffics were recorded in the Strait of Hormuz, bringing the number of ships leaving the Persian Gulf to 35; on 8 days, 35 traffics were recorded, with only two of the 18 departing through the southern channel, indicating that, following the attack the previous night, the ship ' s operator had chosen to avoid the course on the Omani side; and on the night of 8 to 9 a.m., the Strait of Hormuz recorded only five traffics and only one exit from the Persian Gulf.
