The Korean police set up a 41-person virtual asset tracking unit to combat online drug trafficking

On 3 August, the Korean Federation reported that the Korean police would form a 41-person virtual asset tracking and investigation team to focus on the tracking of drug transactions using encrypted assets and to strengthen the investigation of drug distribution networks on platforms such as Telegram from 3 August. Between March and June of this year, the Korean police captured 5,203 drug-related persons, of whom 2,178 or 41.9 per cent were connected to the drug trade, an increase of 300 over the same period last year。
