Iranian President: Almost 90 million barrels of oil exported during the implementation of the Memorandum
On 29 August, Iranian President Pizehiziang stated that, in accordance with the signing of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding, the other party had undertaken to lift the blockade and the sanctions imposed on the oil and petrochemical industries and to return frozen funds. If the other side fulfils its commitments, we will do the same. Dialogue can take place in this process, because we cannot achieve 100 per cent of all our requirements, nor can the other party fulfil 100 per cent of all its requirements. Just during the memorandum of understanding, we exported almost 90 million barrels of oil. But that's not possible now. According to the memorandum of understanding, banking sanctions were lifted, as were those imposed on the petrochemical industry, and we were in the process of recovering frozen funds, which took time and was not easy. The other party had planned to invest $300 billion, and we had discussions with Qatar and the United Arab Emirates to facilitate this. But if the war continues, none of this will happen。
