Deutsche Bank: Japan's policy focus or shift from “care of Japanese yen” to “controlling return”

On 23 July, Deutsche Bank stated that if Japan wished to achieve an economic growth plan, the policy focus might need to shift from supporting the yen to controlling the rate of return on government bonds. The early announcement at the end of last month of a growth strategy of $2.3 trillion by Japanese Prime Minister Gao meant that Japan was “at the threshold of a major shift in fiscal and industrial policy”. In a report, Malika Sahdewa, a German strategist, wrote that Japan “needs to make room for increased spending while maintaining fiscal sustainability”. Japan ' s growth plan called for a substantial increase in spending, and his Government hoped to finance related expenditures by mobilizing domestic savings and encouraging large institutional investors to allocate more funds to domestic assets. At the same time, Japan needs to ensure that nominal economic growth is faster than financing costs. According to Sahdewa, both objectives may require measures to limit the increase in the rate of return. This would imply a shift in the policy direction of Japan。

Previously, it was reported that the Republicans of the United States Senate had released a new version of the CLARITY Act following a teleconference with industry-related parties. The new version proposes to prohibit officials such as the President, the Vice-President, members of Parliament, federal judges and their spouses from receiving remuneration through the issuance or sponsorship of digital assets during their term of office, and the relevant provisions remain in force until 20 January 2029. A bound official is also required to sell an encrypted asset and an investment in an encrypted enterprise or place it in a blind trust beyond his control; the sale of an encrypted asset in excess of $1,000 is subject to disclosure。

Report: The encryption industry contributed $55 billion to the United States economy, directly employing 34,000 people

On 23 July, the National Encryption Money Association of the United States released a report that the United States encryption industry directly employs 34,000 people; the total number of jobs is approximately 232,000, taking into account jobs supported by the supplier industry and the consumption of associated practitioners. The report predicts that the industry will contribute more than $55 billion to US GDP in 2026, of which about $31 billion will flow to the workforce in the form of labour income. Of the 232,000 supported jobs, about 75,000 came from the supplier industry and 123,000 were driven by household consumption by the workers concerned. These figures are based on the multiplier effect of input output models and do not represent the number of people directly employed by encryption companies. Of the 34,000 direct jobs, the largest number of software, block chains and data engineering jobs was about 10,100. In terms of geographical distribution, the States of California and New York supported 57,649 and 53,766 posts, respectively, for a total of more than 111,000 posts, and approximately 26,536 in Texas. The report defines 12 U.S. peri-states as supporting approximately 17,000 jobs. The report was commissioned and funded by the National Cyprus Association and analysed by the Pragmatic Policy Group. The estimates are based on the United States Bureau of Economic Analysis ' s 2024 input output table and $23.22 billion in income data for the encryption industry, and the occupational structure and industry map contains model assumptions。

Analyst: Bitcoin shows signs of recovery, but the upward trend remains to be confirmed

On 22 July, a letter from Eric Balchunas, a senior ETF analyst in Bloomberg, stated that since the 250th anniversary of the independence of the United States, bitcoin had accumulated an increase of about 8 per cent, showing a leading majority of assets. At the same time, the real bitcoin ETF flows began to pick up, with net inflows of about $750 million over the past week. Balchunas states that it is still difficult to fully believe that the current round has reached a stable trend, but that Bitcoin has been lagging behind before, and that it is no surprise that there will eventually be a rebound, and the subsequent trend remains to be seen. The continued sale of assets by Bitcoin holders in the early nine months of the past has been a price repression; it could rebound if those holders stopped selling。

a16z: accelerated expansion of the monetized stock market, with the ratio of AI to chips rising to 15.5 per cent

On 22 July, a16z crypto wrote that, as at the end of June, the total market value of monetized equities was approximately $1.7 billion, more than five times the $329 million a year earlier and had become one of the fastest-growing classes of monetized assets. More than half of the current market value was derived from assets that had not been in the chain a year earlier, indicating that growth was driven mainly by new issuances, rather than only by the rise in the price of lower-level equities. Market structures have also changed significantly. The market value of encryption-related products fell from 79 per cent a year ago to 21 per cent; the "other" category, consisting of hundreds of small targets, rose to 35 per cent. The share of large technology units rose from 0.6 per cent to 10.6 per cent, and that of ETFs to index products from 4.5 per cent to 17.3 per cent. AI has the fastest growth with chips-based monetized shares, with market value increasing from 0.3 per cent in June 2025 to 15.5 per cent. The chain activity is increasing. The monthly transfer of monetized shares in June reached $9.22 billion, an increase of more than 170 times the $53 million in the same period last year, and related transactions included chain sales, wallet transfers and deposit of collateral into the DeFi agreement. Institutional infrastructure is accelerating land landing. DTCC has completed its first exchange of a monetization and stock production environment in Canton Network; Robinhood has entered into a chain of ownership; the parent company of New Haven and OkX have formed a joint venture, which is planned to provide a monetization of New York stock upon approval; and Coinbase and Binance have launched or are planning to introduce a monetization equity service for non-United States users。
